Occupational Audiometry Screening
- Overview
The EFHA Audiometry Course June 2026 group consists of eight (8) learners. The group represents a diverse international cohort, with only one learner based in South Africa. The remaining learners are from Namibia, Ghana, Malawi, and Sudan.
The professional composition of the group is as follows:
- 2 Medical Practitioners
- 5 Nurses
- 1 Audiometric Screener Assistant learner
The diversity of professional backgrounds and geographical locations has contributed positively to discussions and knowledge-sharing throughout the course.
- Theory Sessions
The theory component of the course was conducted over two days, consisting of four live Zoom sessions. Each session was approximately one and a half to two hours in duration, resulting in a total of four theory sessions. Attendance throughout the sessions was very good, with many learners attending all scheduled sessions. Learners actively participated in discussions and engaged most content.
All chapters prescribed for the theory component were covered during the four sessions, ensuring that learners were exposed to the complete curriculum in preparation for their assessments and practical activities.
- Learner Support and Resources
To accommodate learners who were unable to attend certain live sessions, all Zoom recordings were made available and shared with the entire group. This ensured equal access to the course content and provided learners with the opportunity to review the material at their own pace.
In addition, summaries of each session were prepared and shared with learners via the course WhatsApp group. These summaries served as supplementary learning resources and reinforced key concepts covered during the live presentations.
- Website Activity and Course Progress
Learners have been granted access to the online learning platform and associated course resources. The theory content has been completed; however, learners are still required to complete the online Question-and-Answer (Q&A) activities available on the website.
Completion of these online activities is important as they provide learners with an opportunity to assess their understanding of the course material and prepare adequately for the Theory Examination.

The following activities remain outstanding:
- Completion of all online Q&A activities by learners.
- Continued revision of theory content using the session recordings and summaries provided.
- Preparation for the theory examination.
- Progression to the practical and workplace assignment components of the course where applicable.
