Zimbabwe Spirometry In Person Practical Day

The in-person Spiro Practical Day with Colbert Chinyowa was an engaging and productive day for the Zimbabwean students.

Some photos showing the students checking the syringes to ensure they were suitable for our calibration process. After that, they quickly reviewed the biological calibration before moving on to the core spirometry session. This led them straight into practicing the 10 steps for conducting spirometry.

During the introduction, the students expressed concerns about understanding the curves, as well as Step 3, which covers Acceptability and Usability. Colbert demonstrated the procedure and together walked through each of the 10 steps. In pairs, the students carried out the tests and provided feedback on their experience.
