Now that the validity of the data has been established and the best values identified for interpretation, spirometry interpretations should be clear, concise and informative. A mere statement of which values are normal or low is not helpful. Final interpretation should take into account the false-positive and false-negative information from the quality of the blows and then the actual test results themselves and how they compare with reference values.
