Occupational Spirometry Screening Short Course – 8-12 April 2024

Greetings to all our EFHA Leraners!

The Spirometry Hybrid online course, held during the week of April 8-12, 2024, provided a unique learning experience for a group of 15 dedicated learners. This diverse group, comprising individuals from South Africa, Lesotho, Mozambique, and Namibia, came together to enhance their skills in spirometry, showcasing a shared passion for respiratory health.

Participants in the course represented a mix of experienced technicians seeking certification to refine their skills and newcomers eager to grasp the fundamentals of spirometry. Their varied backgrounds, spanning research and clinical settings, enriched the learning environment, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and experiences.

The course coincided with my 40th birthday, adding a celebratory element to the final day of training. Despite the diverse skill levels of the participants, they all demonstrated a strong commitment to mastering spirometry.

The spirometry hybrid online course provided a platform for learners to deepen their understanding of spirometry and enhance their practical skills. As the participants continue their journey towards competency, they can expect ongoing support and mentorship from myself and the whole Education for Health Africa team.
