As the golden light of autumn sets in across South Africa, it’s been a season of growth and discovery at Education for Health Africa. We recently had the privilege of guiding 14 medical professionals from across the country through our latest Spirometry training program. This journey was especially meaningful as the group consisted primarily of students new to the field, and witnessing their transition from curiosity to clinical confidence was truly rewarding.

While the cohort was naturally more reflective and quieter than others, their dedication spoke volumes. Every time a question was posed, the responses were sharp and insightful, demonstrating that a deep level of learning was taking place beneath the surface. It’s always a highlight to see that kind of steady, focused engagement as new practitioners find their footing in respiratory diagnostics.

Our superstars are now moving into the home stretch, gearing up for their theory exams and final clinical touches. We are honoured they chose Education for Health Africa as their training partner, and we look forward to seeing the fresh energy they bring to their respective provinces. On a personal note, wrapping up this cohort was the perfect way to mark another trip around the sun, as I also just celebrated my birthday! There is truly no better gift than seeing a new generation of healthcare professionals empowered to make a real difference.
