Maq obtained both his national diploma in nursing and midwifery at the Lilitha College of Nursing, Mthatha, Eastern Cape.
He is currently completing his postgraduate degree in occupational health with the University of Johannesburg.
In 2020 Maq left the public health service to work in the occupational health and safety field working in the agriculture and steel manufacturing industries.
Maq enjoys imparting knowledge and learned skills in Spirometry, Audiometry and Vision screening.
His passion lies in ensuring employees and surrounding communities remain healthy despite whatever hazards and exposures surround them.
Maqhawe is a valuable Trainee Assessor of the team at Education for Health Africa.
