Dr Kathleen Meehan completed her undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, her Masters in Genetics and her Doctoral Degree in Radiobiology in Cape Town, South Africa. She also has post-graduate credentials in Post School Education and Harvard Medical School (Online learning platform).

Kathleen was Associate Professor in Health Sciences in Cape Town, South Africa before she moved to the United Arab Emirates where she was the Associate Dean for Health Science at Higher Colleges of Technology campuses across the Emirates. She then moved to Khawarizmi International College (KIC) where she established and Chaired the Health Science department, later becoming the Director of External Academic Relations.

After 15 years in the UAE, Kathleen is currently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) where she holds the post of Chief of the Health Academy in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia as well as the Executive Director of Allied Health across the Eastern Region.

Kathleen is also an Editor of The Journal of Medical Laboratory Science & Technology of South Africa (JSMLTSA), an external examiner for post-graduate studies in Cape Town and a founder member of The American Society of Clinical Pathology Middle East (ASCP ME). Her research has been published and presented at National and International conferences and has won her many scientific awards.

Kathleen was instrumental in establishing the first accredited Diabetes Educator course with Imperial College London Diabetes Center (ICLDC) in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and has a keen interest in Spirometry, Audiometry and Vision Screening. Kathleen hopes to offer Diabetes Education through her own academy Diabetes Educator training academy of South Africa (DETASA).
