Over the last 16 years Karyn Taylor has been consulting various industry on Wellness and Disease Management in the workplace. She has a BA Health Sciences and Social Services with a specialization in Corporate Psychology. She is the chairperson of the technical committee (TC 201) at SABS (South African Bureau of Standards) for SANS 16001 Wellness and Disease Management including HIV and TB. She is sits on the ISO 45002 committee for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace (TC 283 observer status). She is an Assessor and Moderator registered with Health and Welfare SETA. She is a lead auditor for SANS 16001:2013 Wellness and Disease Management in the Workplace.
Over the years Karyn has project managed various wellness and disease management interventions and assisted organisation’s in their strategic planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes. She has conducted and developed numerous KABP (Knowledge Attitude Behaviour & Perception) Surveys and Gap Analyses to understand baseline risks and measure effectiveness of interventions.
Karyn has developed instructional material for Wellness (Senior management to Peer Educator), Lay counselling, HIV Testing and Counselling, Wellness and Disease Management, Fatigue Management, Wellness Committee as well as facilitated these training. She has spoken at many conferences.
Karyn lives in Durban on a nature reserve and relishes the beauty of the KZN province. For downtime she is an amateur photographer and watercolorist.
