Dr. Rafiuk Cosmos Yakubu is a Paediatrician at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (T.T.H) in the Northern Region of Ghana and also doubles as a part-time lecturer at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS), University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale. His interests include the management of paediatric emergencies including Acute Respiratory and Cardiac emergencies. He loves to teach medical students and Junior residents. He recently completed a course in spirometry organised by the PATS and has plans of setting up a spirometry unit in the Tamale Teaching Hospital to facilitate evidence based evaluation and subsequent management of patients with chronic airway disease, especially Asthma and also provide students and doctors the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the practice of spirometry. As part of Education for Health Africa He hopes to teach spirometry throughout Ghana so it eventually becomes a routine part of the evaluation and management of patients with pulmonary diseases.
