The Certificate of Competence in Occupational Screening Audiometry is a specialised short course designed to equip occupational and primary health professionals with the skills, confidence, and legal grounding to perform high-quality workplace hearing screening as part of a comprehensive Hearing Conservation Programme. Rooted in South African legislation and best practice, the course aligns with SAQA Unit Standard 252126 (NQF Level 5, 8 credits) and complies with the OHS Act 85 of 1993, Noise-Induced Hearing Loss Regulations, COIDA, and key SANS standards (10083, 10182, 8253-1).
Through a blended learning approach that combines online theory, practical workplace application, and structured assessment, you will learn to conduct accurate audiometric tests, interpret and classify results, maintain compliant records, and make appropriate referrals-safely, ethically, and within your professional scope.

Below is your course outline, structured into 11 modules.
For each module, you are required to:
- Read through every section carefully
- Complete the short section quiz
- Review the memo/answers for that section
Once you have worked through all sections in a module, you will complete an end-of-module quiz. The marks from these quizzes will contribute to your final theory examination mark.
