Audiometry Certificate of Competence Short Course, Briardene Durban

It was my pleasure to teach the Audiometry Certificate of Competence Short Course to 8 students in Durban.

The group was all very keen to learn about Audiometry and actively contributed in class taking part in discussions.

We learnt about how we hear and how noise can affect hearing. All the Acts, Regulations and Standards were a bit overwhelming, but very soon the learners knew the criteria for the different types of audiograms.

The practical sessions were fun and the learners quickly managed the 10 down, 5 up.

The examination caused a little stress – naturally – but they all did well.

I am sure these 8 future audiometrists are going to make a difference in the hearing health of many workers.
