ATA Barrick Bulyanhulu (RSP, RAU and RVS 24 Jan 25) Group 1 and 2
ATA Barrick Bulyanhulu Training Report
I kicked off 2025 with an incredible opportunity to visit Tanzania and travel to the Bulyanhulu Gold Mine. The Tanzanian people welcomed me with open arms, showcasing their renowned hospitality and friendliness.
During my visit, I conducted a refresher course in Spirometry, Audiometry, and Vision Screening for two groups of 17 students. These students comprised Tanzanian doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and EMTs. It was wonderful to reconnect with two familiar colleagues I had previously trained with.
The course was conducted face-to-face at their training center, where I had brought equipment to put theory into practice. This hands-on approach ensured each technician’s practical skills were assessed and refined.
Face-to-face classes remain my preferred teaching method, as they allow for comprehensive theoretical and practical instruction. This approach also fosters strong relationships with students, enabling tailored support and guidance.
I had the privilege of traveling by road from Mwanza’s main town, experiencing my first-ever ferry ride across Lake Tanganyika. This journey offered breathtaking views of the Tanzanian countryside. I also enjoyed lunch at a local shopping center, immersing myself in Tanzanian culture and mingling with the friendly locals.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Bulyanhulu team for their exceptional hospitality and for entrusting EFHA and ATA with this contract. I also thank ATA and EFHA for affording me the opportunity to represent them.
